Taranaki is home to every ecosystem found in Aotearoa – forest, wetland, alpine, coastal. We have rich soil, reliable rainfall and established bush.
Successful, small to large scale restoration, led by dedicated communities, is taking place in every pocket of our region but resources are needed to support their efforts. Watch the below film to learn more about our outstanding taiao and the kaimahi protecting it.
Wild for Taranaki was commissioned by He Hononga Taiao (an alliance of Department of Conservation, Ngã iwi o Taranaki, Taranaki Regional Council and Wild for Taranaki) to create this film to celebrate the achievements in biodiversity restoration across Taranaki and to inspire future investment for the continued growth of our sector.
