We can’t do it alone. We need your help! Any money you donate will go directly to supporting Taranaki projects restoring and protecting biodiversity. You get to choose where it goes to. And if you can’t help out with cash, you can help in other ways.
Our community fund is now open and accepting applications.
Funding can be used for restoration, trapping, monitoring, upskilling and other activities enhancing Taranaki biodiversity. A maximum of $4,000 can be applied for.
From now until the 18th April 2024, we’re seeking applications to our community fund to help new and existing restoration projects carry out work within the next 12 months.
Who can apply? We’re aiming the fund at community groups and organisations, including Wild for Taranaki members, schools, preschools and iwi and hapū. The groups may require funding to carry out restoration, trapping, monitoring and other biodiversity activities which will lead to thriving Taranaki biodiversity.
What should the funds be used for? Funding can be used for a wide range of activities from buying trees and trapping equipment to supporting groups with upskilling through training and workshops. It’s not just about spending on things, it can be used to upskill groups to enable biodiversity action, such as trapping courses. Up to $4,000 can be applied for per group.
You will be notified by the end April if your application has been successful.
We’re excited to have the Action Hub on our website up and running to share all the interesting biodiversity projects happening –take a look at all the projects on the go now – and we hope it will spur more people to get involved and take action by connecting people and projects.
